There Is A New Kid in Town ~ Hilltop Divers opens its doors

Since October 1st 2006 "Hilltop Divers" is the new diveshop of Caribbean Club Bonaire as part of the management change that took place.

In a unique setting and location "Hilltop Divers" offers a complete and wide range of services: from air fills to a full retail shop and a variety of rental sets. Rinse tanks and shower facilities make this top dive shop what the Northern part of Bonaire has been waiting for.

"Hilltop Divers" is proud to announce its "Easy Diving" package*. You park your car at the secure parking lot of Caribbean Club Bonaire, grab a tank at the dive shop, our dive site shuttle service drops you off at one of the dive sites along the scenic route (Oil Slick Leap, Jeff Davis Memorial, Weber's Joy/Witches Hut or 1000 Steps) and picks you up after the dive. Upon return you'll take a shower (towel provided) and enjoy a healthy "after dive lunch" in our "Hilltop" Restaurant and Bar. This great service and diving experience for only US$ 20,-- per person!!

Besides the "Easy Diving"-package we also offer the "Drift Dive" package** where you make the incredible drift dive from "Oil Slick Leap" to "Witches Hut". We'll bring you and your gear to "Oil Slick Leap" and we'll pick you up again at "Witches Hut".  Back at Caribbean Club Bonaire you'll take a refreshing shower and have lunch in our restaurant.  And this for only US$ 17,50 per person which includes a 1-tank air fill and transfer from/to the dive sites, towel and lunch.

CARIBBEAN CLUB UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT

September 27 2006 – Caribbean Club Bonaire, the 26 unit resort located north of Kralendijk at the foot of Bonaire’s scenic route and hills is under new management as of October 1st 2006.

"We are very pleased to add Caribbean Club Bonaire to our portfolio", says Solar’s Management Managing Director Ruud van Baal. "It complements perfectly the other properties. Although we will use the potential synergy within our group, like with our other properties, Caribbean Club Bonaire will be branded and operated separately giving the property its own identity and serving a specific market segment."

Where Buddy Dive Resort operates in the (hard core) dive market within the 3-3 ½ star segment and Belmar Oceanfront Apartments in the more upscale leisure and dive segment, Caribbean Club Bonaire clearly will be the affordable alternative within the budget dive-, leisure-, family- & (Eco) adventure market. The tag line “Dive, Relax & Explore” reflects that philosophy.

All our properties can be defined by providing an excellent value-for-money ratio with outstanding operations and services while the personal attention of our staff makes the difference. Caribbean Club Bonaire will have those characteristics as well, adds Ruud van Baal.

Caribbean Club Bonaire features 20 one- and two-bedroom cottages as well as 4 studios and 2 penthouses with breathtaking ocean view from Bonaire’s West coast. Together with its own on-premises full service dive shop, restaurant, bar and swimming pool, Caribbean Club Bonaire is the perfect place for divers, leisure travelers and outdoor adventurers looking for affordable accommodation with full service resort facilities. The “Hilltop” Bar & Restaurant offers daily breakfast, lunch, dinner and a weekly entertaining BBQ.

Daily rates start at US$ 60,-- per day for a studio while complete “Dive- & Explore”-packages start at US$ 476,-- per week and include 7 nights accommodation and car rental, transfer from/to the airport, daily breakfast, 6 days unlimited shore diving and all taxes based on 5 persons in a two bedroom cottage. The diving part of the package can be exchanged with an Adventure package that includes a Kayak Mangrove trip, a Cave Snorkel Excursion, one day mountain bike use and one day snorkel set use.

Besides diving, Caribbean Club Bonaire is the perfect place to discover the many other (Eco)-adventures Bonaire has to offer. Bird watching, hiking, mountain biking, cave exploration, snorkeling, kayaking, parasailing and trips to the Washington Slagbaai Park or the Goto-lake are just a few of the activities to explore while staying at Caribbean Club Bonaire.

One of Bonaire’s best dive and snorkel sites “Oil Slick Leap” known as “fantastically easy” is just a giant stride away while within a ten minutes driving range another 10+ well known dive sites are within reach. Caribbean Club Bonaire indeed represents everything Bonaire is so famous for; diving freedom.

The coming months the property will be upgraded with the focus on replacing furniture and inventory in the cottages, soft renovations, restock and redesign the on-premises dive shop and improve services within the daily operations. The upgrading of the property will be done outside the view of the guest and no disturbance will be experienced by the guests in house. Presently the construction of 8 two-bedroom units is being executed outside the existing resort-area and these will be integrated at the end of 2007. After that another one or two phases, for development are planned which will result in a 50+ unit resort at the end of 2008.

St Patricks Day, is an Irish holiday celebration, and we will again be joining in, not because we are Irish, just because it's fun! Grandma's recipe for traditional Irish stew will once again be taken out of the safe and along with live music, Guinness and Jameson's Irish whisky will make this a party not to miss.

The official opening of the Hilltop Apartments will take place in the first week of march. The pictures and rates will be available at the same time. This will be the first of our comfortable, affordable apartments overlooking the ocean and the scenic beauty of North Bonaire. They are designed not to intrude on the landscape or change the relaxing and natural ambience of Caribbean Club Bonaire.

Due to the popularity of our Tuesday BBQ and Friday Creole buffet nights, we are adding a third theme night. Sunday evenings will be our Mexican night, with many well known dishes served in a buffet, all you can eat style, at a great price and prepared by our friendly ladies in the kitchen, Lourdes, Gladys and Dulce.
