Specially for snorkelers

Bonaire created a program named “Bonaire Guided Snorkeling” designed for snorkelers of all ages and skill levels. It started with a slide show introducing the participants to the coral reef and its inhabitants and after that the participants were taken on guided tours on the reef.

The reefs of Bonaire begin on shallow terraces surrounding the island and are a true paradise for snorkelers. During the years Bonaire focused on diving and forgot about its snorkeling program. According to Bonaire Dive & Adventure naturalists that was a mistake: we should not forget it. “We want to teach you the names of those you dive or snorkel with.” says Jerry Ligon, the in house biologist of Bonaire Dive & Adventure. BD& A updated the Bonaire Guided Snorkeling program, replacing the original slide show with an up to date version on the computer in which you see video's of the most frequently seen fishes of Bonaire. Later, on your snorkel trip, your guide will introduce them to you in real life. An introduction to the most common corals is part of the program.
